In this paper, a phenomenological criterion for estimating the energy of forming, spent on the introduction of a cylindrical punch into the plastic half-space was proposed (this is a model of the technological process of reverse extrusion, the introduction of a solid indenter into special steel sheets, various Brinell hardness tests, Rockwell, Lieb). The method is based on the reconstruction of the material map according to the physicomechanical characteristics. In order to assess the used plasticity resource in the process of extruding a cavity in a hardening metal, a material map has been reconstructed, which includes the flow curve and plasticity diagram. A computational apparatus is proposed, which allows to take into account the effect of the strain rate on the absorption of the energy of plastic deformation in problems of metal forming. The effective criterion for the deformation capacity of various hardening steels includes the formation of a map of the materials of these steels, stress state indicators, and the used plasticity resource in order to identify unsafe areas in the process of producing blanks from these steels. In this case, the possibility of both static and dynamic loads is considered.

Dependence is studied, which allows to calculate the resistance coefficient of medium with high energy absorption. The evaluation of the plasticity resource in the implementation of the punch into the preform under conditions of inverse compression is given. The possibility of assigning technological regimes in pressure operations is shown.
