90 years of the Department of Metal Processing by Pressure of the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute"

Abstract

The article is devoted to the 90th anniversary of Department of Metal Forming of the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" (NTU "KPI"). The process of specialists’ training in the field of metal forming from the moment of creation of NTU "KPI" university in 1885, when the first enrollment of students was made, is considered. On the basis of consideration of the persons who headed Department in different years, the analysis of the basic scientific directions, which Department was engaged in, is performed. The basic directions of work which Department is doing now and its prospects for development are given.
