Abstract

The history of formation and creation of the department "Metal processing by pressure" of the National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine is considered,
Dnipro. Prominent scientists who headed and worked at the department are presented. The directions of activity of the department as a scientific center in the field of metal forming are analyzed. The main directions and features of preparation of specialization of students in any process of processing by pressure - from traditional (rolling, pipe, forging and stamping, drawing production) to more modern (rolling and foundry production, pressing, production of bimetal products, etc.) are considered.
